If you have a speaker phone with some music and in need to hear it out loud, then here is something innovative. I found a couple of Fijian blokes full at work with their innovative speaker system full blasting away to some nice Fijian tunes and keeping them entertained. Why spend more than more you have to?

Chocolate Balls, it’s quick and easy to do and great for the kids. The beauty part of this recipe is that it involves no baking/oven, just mixing the ingredients and into the fridge….simplicity at its best.

Panthers & Dragons

My my my, what a game it was, in typical Fijian passion and flair, there was no love lost in the Fiji National Rugby League Semi Finals game between the Nadera Panthers and the Saru Dragons (Nadi) at the Corpus Cristi ground here in Suva on Saturday. The number one objective of the day was to get to the next stage of the competition, the Finals!

Back to the game, here are some of the photos during the game…Saru Dragons in Red with the Panthers in Black/Green and White….

While it may be considered a minor sport and something unheard of in Fiji, we found a group out and about on Saturday playing a few rounds of Baseball. Now I’m not too sure if they have clubs, etc, but it was good to see something different other than soccer and rugby being played on the field despite seeing the odd ball flying around the place close to us….whew anything but the camera…..man!

Maybe one day we might see a local competing with other nationals in a Major League overseas….until then, laterz!

Face Painting

A good way to keep children entertained at birthday parties is by having lots of activities on the day from face painting, colouring, treasure hunt, egg/spoon or marble/spoon races, etc, etc, the list is endless. All you need is a plan, buying a few brushes and face paints, mind you, they are in abundance now in Suva, compared to a few years back, and its really good and cheap.

Here is what you can do with some face painting….

USP Graduation Photo’s Part II

Even the USP Choir was present and sang some harmonious tunes during the small breaks between the ceremony.

Our Baby Boy has finally done it!

A very close friend has now got one of the most important boxes ticked off from his To-Do List, his BA (not the town mind you) and I was lucky enough to be there to capture this special moment with him and his family. It has been very difficult to choose which photos to put up so I’ve just picked two which I know captures the true spirit and nature of our friend.

The USP Graduation took place at the Vodafone Arena (opposite the National Stadium) with over 800 graduates and their families there to watch the ceremony. The weather was good despite the light showers around mid-morning, and it held during and after the ceremony proper, amazingly. The ceremony was very well conducted, hats off to the staff and people working behind the scene on the day to make it a success. Job well done!

I will also post up some of the photos of the ceremony another day as there is just so many to choose from and will need some time to get this done, so stay tuned!

To our dear friend, Congratulations are in order, you’ve finally Graduated and we’re all proud of you!

Business House Touch Rugby Competition

These Boots were made for playing....

On Saturday we ventured out and watched the Business House Touch Rugby Semi Finals and Finals at the Veiuto Grounds here in Suva.

While the weather was heavily overcast and windy, this did not dampen the spirit of the players as they went about playing the game they love best, Touch Rugby.

Warm jackets, jeans and pom poms was the attire for the day for the brave spectators who ventured out to cheer their respective teams on as they competed in the finals of the tournament for this year.

The FNPF Business House team and the Reserve Bank of Fiji ‘Untouchables’ played it out in the finals of the competition, I will have to post up a separate page later today with the photos from the finals. Click here to view the finals photos

I must admit that we missed the first few hours of the day, however we were lucky enough to catch the rest of the games plus the finals in the afternoon.
